Now is the time

Have you realised how...

...the pleasure of a musical piece stops after you become too familiar with it?

...the excitement of mystery stops after it is solved?

...magic ceases to be magic when you figure out how?

Oftentimes, we live to reach the end. But the magic is lost when you do reach the end. Guess the secret is in learning to also cherish the process of reaching the end. You see, the end is merely an illusion. Now is the reality.

The end is only the beginning of the start. I am a musician and if I like a piece of music, I love it always. We are trained in America to look only for new, fresh or "hot" things.
Good post!

Bobby, I think the mark of good music is something that does not wear off with time. But each time you listen to it, it seems new. However, such music is not so common. "The end is only the beginning" - guess it is another way of looking at the end. And thank you!

Me, thanks. Was written during a deep moment of insight! He he...

What I find amazing is how music can conjure up memories and feelings as clear as day. If I hear music from my teenage years, I am instantly a teenager again.

It's also weird how a certain piece of music can get "stuck" in our heads...why is that?

You know, Trish, that happens with smells for me. Certain smells i relate to certain places. If i get that particular smell, i am immediately transported to where i was... Weird, huh?

About song getting stuck in our heads - it is called earworm apparently (i can understand why!!). Have no clue why it happens but it can get so annoying especially if you are stuck with one of 'em lousy songs!!

Too many people have told me this in the last six months, so I better start believing it. But you're right, in the end, when it's over, it doesn't seem like that big a deal when it did when you were headed towards it.
