Perception - Today's Thought #7

A person who has been able to obtain an additional perspective is indeed in a better position to judge things. However, this position should not be used to judge people who do not have the advantage of other perspectives…

One more of my random thoughts I was thinking when riding to work.

Do you judge?

CW - To your question 1, the answer is, 'it depends'. It depends on the other person with whom i am comparing myself. And oftentime, i may not know...

The answer to the second question is, yes. And i try hard not to. Most of what i write is a reminder for me first.

I think you're right! In the process of gaining another perspective, we should realize there are more and more, that each one is only a facet of a jewel, and there are many others. Those others offer different vantage points. It's not about right or wrong but different. It can be enriching. Of course, judgmental people have a perspective, what they believe is the pinnacle. Silly them!

Sandy, facets of a jewel was the exact analogy that came to my mind when i was thinking this thought...

I think you should not judge people who seemingly use their position of additional perspective to judge others who do not have the advantage of those perspectives, as they may have other additional perspectives to make that judgment, that you do not have the advantage of.

That is the whole point. Don't judge another person. We have certain perspective, and the others have certain perspectives. We cannot really say who has the advantage of more perspectives. So, it is best not to judge people. But with our perspective to judge the situation or object so that we can contribute...

When we judge between a 'good' choice and a 'good' choice I agree knowing more and or different does not give right to assume you know best.

Can we love and judge at the same time? Is that why we should not judge and why we should love?

ok

Ryan - Hmm... Interesting thought there. Don't know if judging and loving can mix. Will give it more thought.

Mahathma - ok.
