Wisdom and the lack of it...

If there is one thing that really stood out for me when I read the book ஆகாச வீடுகள் (A Home in the Sky) it was the insight into wisdom or the lack of it…

When someone does something hurtful or selfish or any of that, lack of wisdom is the reason. This person could be you or I. I have been trying to put this into practice in my life, especially on the roads. When someone one cuts across, they are lacking in wisdom. When I say to myself, "Hmph, that person is unwise," I leave the path of wisdom.

I was thinking about wisdom and trying to make it more understandable to me. I have read and know that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And the fruit of wisdom, I suppose, is revealed in the way I treat another. Which is why when I cut across or when I cause hurt or when I am selfish or when I ridicule another I am acting out my lack of wisdom. And when I love and bless another in my thoughts and actions, it flows out of wisdom.

Bungi,
It is remarkable to me how often our blog posts share the road! I had not read your post until I read your comment a moment ago!

I have always found comfort in the Psalm to which you allude--the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom--and understood "fear" to be a humble respect for God's love. It is a great reminder that we can't see and know everything at once, least of all the far-reaching affects of our words and deeds. Perhaps this is why silence is sometimes a key part of wisdom.

(I must get a copy of that book you are reading!)

When we stand in front of an ocean,or look up at the sky with its billions of stars in the never ending galaxy,we feel so humbled.and to think of the almighty who created it all..what are we.. a small speck before his all pervading love..If only we can take off the coat of ego from ourselves..so wonderful life would be
God Bless

Sandy - I know! It is amazing, huh? Let me know if you are not able to find the book. I can look it up here for you.

CU - Indeed. If only we learn to put God and others before us. But guess life is a journey towards that.

Saj - Hmmm...

Jollyroger - *grin* Thank you.
