There's nothing easy about life…

It's easier

to complain than to appreciate

to find fault than to find the goodness

to hate than to love

to be bitter than to be forgiving

to be sad than to be joyous

to be ungrateful than to be thankful

But,

it is better to clean the closet every now and then than to let the dirty laundry pile up and make your life miserable.

These small negative minions come back to bite you in your back… and they bite hard…

Hehe, time to spend the whole weekend doing laundry, huh? :-)

On a more serious note, I think it takes more energy to hate than to love. A counselor once told my mom that the opposite of love is indifference. It's certainly MUCH easier to be apathetic than it is to love OR hate.

I think the negativity that comes easy is a form of self-protection, a way to prevent rejection by doing the rejecting first, etc. There is tremendous risk involved in being positive and reaching out in this world. Ultimately, the risk is necessary to make any kind of connection with anyone. Your post has me thinking. Thanks for doing that--again!

Julie - He he. May be. It does feel like it. And yeah, never thought of indifference as the opposite of love. Interesting thought.

Sandy - Yeah. Somehow there is no real joy in living a protected life...

Gitu - *sigh*
