Yesterday was observed the Anti-Child Labour Day. And Child Labour is apparently illegal in India. That being the case, I wonder why I saw a 12-something kid standing in the middle of the road, trying to open a man-hole with a crow-bar. He was standing behind this Metro Water lorry.
World Vision India and NalandaWay have organized an exhibition - At the Cost of Childhood - to put on spotlight the existence and reality of child labour. It is open till tomorrow. I am hoping to visit tomorrow.

Hey every time I visit a restaurant and see a kid cleaning tables I have a tugging in my heart. Can we complain somewer?

I can find out. But i have always felt a bit hypocritical about crying out against child labour. I don't see a point in protesting it unless i can provide an alternative for the kid.
On the other hand, i do think that the establishments hiring kids need to be punished anyway.
Will dig around a bit and find out the information.
Though we say education is free, it is not affordable. Child labour in any form has to be discouraged.
I agree with Bungi. Child labour is only a symptom. All that time and energy used for "protesting" can be used to help one family. That kid is working for a reason. Sometimes do-gooders do things to soothe their own feelings but don't understand the root problem.
Take one child. Take one family. You like that restaurant? That kid tugs at your heart? Then get to know the kid. What's his name? How old is he? Who are his brothers and sisters? See how God leads. God knows. Jesus always has the personal touch. He wasn't into causes. Remember, he left the Zionists alone.
