Jealous

Jealousy, like a drop of heavy poison

Grips my heart and drags it down

Through the mud

I try to grab my heart

And squeeze the last drop

Out of it

While i rest

Thinking that I’m rid of the poison

I feel my heart become heavy again

The darkness stains my mind

The claws clutch my conscience

Drop by drop

Little by little

Claw by claw

I will be rid of it

By the power of Him

who can rid me of it

Jealousy is a toxic thing. I enjoyed your poem. I have known the feeling!

I am thinking two things: 1 is that your new profile photo is super; 2 is that I think you might be interested in a book by a man named Jay Kopelman, who tells his story about rescuing a dog from Iraq. He talks about the importance of stories and how they change.

Nice poem Bungi, I can almost sense the heaviness. And how aptly said, "like a drop of heavy poison", thats all it takes, to rid you of peace and the other important things in life.
