Global North and South are just new jargons for First World/Developed nations and Third World/Developing/Under Developed nations... Nothing complicated there ;) Old stuff and new names...
So true. I learned after living in Chennai that there was a big divide between North Chennai and South Chennai--all to do with money, honey.
In the UK, the north-south divide is almost like two different countries. In France, it's the same thing.
When you get these global people, they tend to lose the individual. They have to put millions of people in some sort of categories so their emotions don't have to deal with the real problems--somewhere, some woman is dying right now from hunger. That doesn't show up in statistics.
Grassroots is where it is at for making a difference.
And you can have a north-south divide in the same house, or in your own heart.

I don't know this expression, Bungi, but I can imagine this refers to a dominant hemisphere and a dominated one. Am I close? Please tell me more!
